I have booked a Portugal vacation rental, do I have to show a negative test or the EU Digital COVID Certificate? If you are planning a holiday in a vacation rental or tourist establishment in Portugal, perhaps you will already be aware of the new preventive measures that have come into force. If you have any questions, Warmrental shares with you what you should know for a peaceful and safe holiday in Portugal.
As decreed by the Portuguese government, all vacation rentals and tourist establishments must require their guests to present a negative test to COVID-19 or the EU Digital COVID Certificate (valid on the check-in date). Therefore, all guests over the age of 12 must present the test or certificate upon check-in, which must be validated by the owner of the property.
The following types of tests are accepted in Portugal:
• PCR test, performed within 72 hours prior to check-in;
• Antigen test with a laboratory report, performed within 48 hours prior to check-in;
• Quick antigen test in the self-test modality, carried out in the presence of a health or pharmaceutical professional who certifies that it has been carried out and its result, performed within 24 hours prior to check-in;
• Quick antigen test in the form of self-test at the door of the vacation rental, under the owner’s verification, performed at check-in.
If you still don't have a full vaccination and need to get tested, tests can be purchased at supermarkets or you can visit a COVID-19 Test Centres.
Warmrental recommends that you keep an eye out for official sources to be aware of possible changes to the measures in force.
