Falésia Beach is among the best in the world, according to TripAdvisor users. The list has 25 winners and this beach in Olhos de Água, Albufeira, is the only Portuguese one, occupying 13th place. Falésia Beach is located in the parish of Olhos de Água, in the Algarve, and is known for its long sandy beach, crystal clear water, and red sand cliffs that impress anyone. The activities that the beach offers are also praised, as well as its proximity to good accommodation and restaurants.
For José Carlos Rolo, Mayor of Albufeira, «it is a recognition of what we have and appreciate, on the one hand, and, on the other, it is an incentive for all of us, as we hope, and there are indicators in this sense, of being a very satisfactory summer for commerce, restaurants and the like, hospitality and for albufeirenses in general».
Spain also has two of its beaches on the list of the best in the world: Cofete Beach in Fuerteventura and La Concha Beach in San Sebastián.
Topping the list of the best beaches in the world is Whitehaven, in Australia, followed by Santa Maria Beach in Cuba and Baía do Sancho Beach in Brazil.
