Portugal is an example for other countries in the world

Portugal is one of the best countries in the world in everything that should be done in the Tourism sector. With innovative projects, top schools and fantastic solutions for all types of tourists, Portugal is increasingly cementing its position as an example to follow. "Portugal is a very interesting example, and even a 'show case' in the world, which shows everyone how to do in tourism," said Zurab Pololikashvili, secretary-general of the World Tourism Organization, to the Portuguese newspaper Expresso.

Lisbon, the North of Portugal, the Algarve and the Islands are highlighted. The fact that the Azores Archipelago is in the process of certification, scheduled for 2019, to be one of the first sustainable destinations in the world and thus receive the stamp of Global Sustainable Tourism Council, is another favorable indicator for the sector in Portugal.

"It's a whole nation working to and for tourism, which is extraordinary," concluded the Secretary-General of UNWTO.
