#70765. Disappointment
Our worst Airbnb experience so far! We are two families, 4 adults, 4 kids and 1 baby. We have rented over the past 2 years a few houses, but never we experienced such a disappointment. The management seemed quite reactive: they managed to get us a baby crib and a high chair on time for our stay On the pictures and for the first few minutes, the house looks modern, fresh, with a minimalistic design. The reality is quite the opposite, everything in the house is cheap, but its renting price ! The house is inside a gated area, which is nice as long as there is no car actually parked in front of the gate (it happened to us). The view on the Pena castle is beautiful especially at night, but the courthouse a little less… The pool is of a decent size but please note that there are no steps at all to step inside the pool and part of the garden is grass; the other part just earth, which makes it look not finished and is not practical with kids running around! The pool lamp unhooked itself in the beginning of our stay and nobody came to fix it. Only 2 sunbeds were available at arrival, but no umbrellas as the whole garden is directly exposed to the sun. For 8 people, let’s say is it not even the bare minimum! After complaining to the manager upon arrival, 2 more sunbeds and 2 umbrellas were brought in within 45 minutes, but without stand, and the ground was so hard that it was just impossible to use them. During the day, neighbors are loud, and at night the barking dogs are taking over! The house itself has the strict minimum. The blinds are actually plastic (supposed to be thermic, but do not work at all) curtains that let light go around, which means that at 6 in the morning all the bedrooms are full of light! There is no air conditioning, nor fans anywhere in the house, which will make your summer nights a nightmare or a sauna ! You can try opening the sliding doors of the bedroom but the plastic blinds will flap and tap against the borders endlessly, plus full of mosquitos. In order to sleep plan on bringing ear plugs (which we all got) and eye masks. Yes, the bathrooms are ok, but once again the way they connect to the rooms with windows, most of them not even sanded (probably it was too expensive), makes the rooms even brighter/hotter when the sun, or the street lights, are on. Two of the rooms have king size beds. The two remaining ones have “Snow White” size beds, which I did not even know they existed and were barley large enough to accommodate two kids (and definitely not for adults)! The kitchen is not really practical, and the utensils of the cheapest quality that can be found. The pans are so scratched, that if you were...
