Lisbon Is The 3rd City In The World With The Best Quality Of Life

According to the prestigious Monocle magazine, Lisbon took third place in the 2022 ranking of cities with the best quality of life in the world. Once again, the Portuguese capital was distinguished by the living conditions it offers to those who live in the city and those who choose it as a tourist destination. In 2021, Lisbon occupied seventh place in the ranking of cities with the best quality of life, and, in 2022, it rose to third place. The rise was due to the tourism renaissance, business growth, excellent weather conditions, and landscape diversity.

"Being one of the three cities in the world with the best quality of life reveals the audacity and ambition with which we have worked. This is the recognition of Lisbon as an increasingly attractive and qualified city. It is the result of a better offer in terms of infrastructure and services, along with the hospitality that characterizes us so much", said Carlos Moedas, President of the Lisbon City Council.

Copenhagen won first place, followed by Zurich. Helsinki, Stockholm, Tokyo, Vienna, Sydney, Vancouver, and Taipei follow Lisbon.

The ranking was made by the prestigious international magazine "Monocle" and now has its 15th edition. Annually, the magazine's international editors and contributors analyze various factors, including crime rates, ambulance response times, employment rate, and wage inequality, to assess the lifestyle of 25 cities worldwide.
