Quarteira is easy to reach, whether you're flying in, driving from Lisbon, or travelling by public transport from nearby cities.
The nearest airport is Faro Airport, located about 20–25 minutes away by car. From the airport, you can take a taxi or TVDE (Uber/Bolt), which is usually the fastest option. There are also direct buses from Faro city centre to Quarteira, so you can take a short transfer from the airport to Faro bus station and continue from there. Find more information here.
Quarteira has excellent road access via the A22 (Via do Infante) motorway, which runs across the Algarve. From Lisbon, the drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours via the A2 and A22. Parking is widely available, though it can be busier near the beach in summer.
Regional buses connect Quarteira with other Algarve towns. Services are regular, especially between Faro and Quarteira, making it a practical option if you’re not renting a car. The main bus stop is centrally located.
